In Spring three early nineteenth century pieces are contrasted with one from the twentieth century. Weber’s rarely heard bassoon concerto, Rossini’s amusing Thieving Magpie Overture and Schumann’s Third Symphony rich in stirring themes, are introduced by the Suite Colas Breugnon by Kabalevsky.
