Making music in Manchester since 1888

Today, we are an amateur orchestra attracting and welcoming members from across the Greater Manchester area. We are dedicated to showcasing a wide variety of classical music and supporting local and national charities at our performances here in our home city. Discover more about who we’ve been supporting over the years.

Our long and close relationship with our city endures as we provide an all important solo platform for the rising global stars in the world of classical music from the Royal Northern College of Music.

Our orchestra has a reputation for the friendly atmosphere of its rehearsals. We attract members from all over the Greater Manchester area and neighbouring counties. If you are interested in joining the orchestra then we would love to hear from you.

Charities we have supported

The majority of our concerts are on a free admission basis and we invite the audience to show their appreciation by making a donation of their choice to our nominated charity. We donate a minimum of 80% of money collected to the charity. Contact us to learn more about the charities we have supported over the years.
